Two Different Colored Eyes Name Explained

Each person has a different color and eye set for the next, no two sets of the same eyes! There are basically Two Different Colored Eyes variations found in humans. Like skin tones like light, dark or medium color, there are variations in natural eye colors and amber, green, violet, black, red in rare colors.

The amount of pigment melanin defines the color of the iris. When the amount of melanin darkens, the color of the eyes, skin, and hair darkens.

If the amount of pigment melanin is low, then the color of the iris or eyes will have a light shade like blue or gray eyes. If the amount of pigment is high, then the eye color will be as dark as black eyes or brown eyes.

When our eyes become dark then they are less sensitive to the sun, compared to light colored eyes and require less eye care in general.

Eye Color

Eye color has always been an interesting subject. From the time a child is born they have a color in their eyes that will give them their looks for the rest of their lives. Although often a color of the eye a child has can often change as they grow up.

Eyes are important to how we look and our eye color will have a big part in how they affect us in life.

Two Different Colored Eyes

The Human eye is a complex, unique and exciting part of the human body. Each person has a unique set of eyes. The human eye has basically Two Different Colored Eyes variations.

The following explanation about Two Different Colored Eyes should help you better understand your eye color.

1. Natural Eye Colors

Find the following different natural eye colors - all we have :-

Brown

Two Different Colored Eyes

Brown eyes are very common, occurring in about 36 percent of the world’s population. But that doesn’t mean that they are ordinary. How else might you describe them?

Brown eyes have a different genetic basis from blue eyes. In people with two brown-eye genes, a nearly set of instructions is turned on, while a nearly set of instructions is turned off in people with two blue-eye genes.

A third eye color gene has been found in some humans, but the gene variation is not common. The variations in this gene do not turn on or off a nearly set of instructions.

Brown eyes, a legacy of the Neanderthals, are the second most common eye color in humans. Even though they’re not rare, they’ve been the subject of fascination and speculation for centuries.

Brown eyes are the most common eye color in humans and other primates. The genetics of eye color are not completely understood and it is not known why the original trait evolved.

The gene OCA2, when associated with two other genes, HERC2 and TYR, is involved in the development of brown eyes. It has been proposed that a mutation of the gene OCA2 occurred about 100,000–170,000 years ago in Africa, possibly as a result of natural selection.

Blue

Two Different Colored Eyes

There’s something about blue eyes—the way they pierce right through you, the color isn’t like any other, and they’re such a unique and beautiful shade.

Blue eyes are caused by a gene mutation. People who have blue eyes only have one blue-eyed parent. Both of their parents had brown eyes, but only their mother or father passed on the blue-eyed gene.

Blue eyes are caused by a mutation on the OCA2 gene. The OCA2 gene helps control the production of melanin, the pigment that gives our eyes their color.

In places like Africa or Asia then green eyes are very rare. As melanin pigment production usually increases during the first few years of life, the blue eyes of some children may darken with age.

Hazel

Two Different Colored Eyes

Hazel-colored eyes are also common, and are the result of a combination of Rayleigh diffuse, as well as a small amount of melanin on the anterior border of the iris.

The first thing that people notice about Hazel's eyes is their color, which is a beautiful blue-green.

Additionally, Hazel's eyes have a special sparkle, which she uses to her advantage when she's spinning a yarn or telling a tall tale.

I like to call Hazel eyes the best of both worlds. They have the depth and richness of brown eyes, but the brightness and sparkle of blue eyes. They’re truly beautiful and unique.

They're a deep, dark brown. But they're sometimes hard to see because they're so heavily lined with kohl.

Gray

What is the color of your eyes? How often do you look into them? The answer to these questions is in the eye of the beholder. Eyes are the window to the soul, they say.

Gray eyes are eyes that are gray. They are not blue, green, brown, or hazel. Gray eyes are simply gray. Gray eyes are the combination of blue tone and gold tone.

They are not more or less attractive than any other eye color, but they are less common than other colors.

People in countries like Russia, the Baltic States and Finland, in general, have gray eyes.

2. Rare Eye Colors

Now find the following different rare eye colors - all we have: -

Red

Red color of the eyes is due to the deposition of a pigment called melanin. This pigment can be brown, black, yellow, or red in color. Melanin is found in the iris, the area that surrounds the pupil.

In some cases, there is a lack of melanin or very little melanin in certain people, which results in a lighter color in their eyes.

Red colored eyes are associated with albinism. Red colored eyes are caused due to the absence of pigmentation in the iris. The iris is the colored ring around the pupil of the eye. Albinism is caused due to the absence of pigment called melanin.

Green

Green Colored Eyes

Green eyes are definitely more attractive! Green eyes are fun, unique, and stand out. They are more striking than other colors. People with green eyes are rare, therefore more unique and special.

Green eyes are the rarest eye color in the world. They are an X-linked recessive trait.

The gene that gives people green eyes is actually the same gene that gives people blue eyes. The difference between green and blue eyes is the amount of pigment in the iris.

Green eyes are an eye color which is caused by the relatively high concentration of the green pigment chlorophyll in the iris.

Green eyes are most common in Northern and Central Europe, where they occur more frequently than anywhere else in the world.

Violet

A person with violet eyes is usually a person who cares about the world and others around them. They are very strong and very brave.

They are also very loving and kind and will always be there for their friends and family. They are also very smart and intelligent.

This is a very interesting gene. It's involved in eye color. In mice and humans, there are two versions, or alleles, of this gene.

The normal allele makes brown pigment, and the mutant allele makes no pigment.

Violet colored eyes are a genetic trait. The gene that determines whether a person has blue or brown eyes is dominant, so the next generation is likely to have blue or brown eyes.

Black

Black colored eyes are just the opposite of blue colored eyes. The blue pigment of your iris is scattered throughout the back of the eye, where it does not affect the color of your eye. Black colored eyes are actually brown.

Your eye color is normally brown, but the blue pigment is not scattered all over the back of your eye.

A common color of the iris is black. Black eyes are found in 10% of the world’s population. They are more common where there is a high incidence of albinism.

The black color of the eyes is a result of melanin. Melanin is a pigment that is produced in the iris and darkens the color of the iris.

Amber

Amber eyes are not a common eye color. They are a mixture of brown and green and, sometimes, golden flecks. They are not just a brown color, they are a blend of colors, which adds to their beauty.

Amber eyes are an eye color that ranges from a deep, dark brown to a light, golden color. They are caused by a few different genes.

Sometimes the genes that cause green eyes are also passed on, causing a person to have a mixture of both colors. Amber eyes are sometimes referred to as golden eyes, honey eyes, or tri-colored eyes.

Amber eyes appear due to the formation of lipochrome, which is a yellow color on the iris. The color of the eyes is very unusual, and it is also known as 'wolf eyes'.

Final Thoughts

These were the Two Different Colored Eyes. Some people have two eyes of different colors, for example one eye will be brown and the other light green. This eye condition is known as heterochromia.

However, it is possible to change the natural color of the eyes, correct this condition of the eyes, or remove congenital iris defects. This is done using intraocular inserts that improve color vision.
